Gullkúnst Helgu is a jewelery shop that has been run by Helga Jónsdóttir goldsmith and husband, Hallgrímur Tómasi Sveinsson since 1993 on Laugavegur.
Today, the store at Laugaveg 13 is in a large, elegant building that previously housed Kristján Sigurgeirsson, Habitat and Herragarðinn.
3 goldsmiths work in Gullkúnst, along with shop staff.
Personal service has always been emphasized at Gullkúnst, and our professionals are happy to assist with any inquiries.
Those who are unable to come to the store can order products online or by phone.
We offer on serial payments through Valitor and also Netgiro.
The family of Helga is a true goldsmith family. Leifur Jónsson goldsmith, who long owned the Gullhöllina is her brother, her uncle is Jóhannes Leifsson goldsmith and the grandfather was Sigmundur Grímsson who moved to Vancouver Canada a long time ago, engaged in goldsmithing and employed many people.
It’s like walking into an art show when entering Helga Gullkúnst on Laugavegur 13. The design is simple and stylish so the jewelery will will be the main focus of display. The showcases are made of teak and glass and it is like viewing an art exhibit when walking between them. What’s more, customers can walk into the store window itself and view what’s on display. This unusual arrangement brings a great deal of life to the store and is quite different from what is generally the case where the show windows are all closed.
